Situated
in County Hall, on the South Bank of the Thames by Westminster
Bridge, the London Aquarium provides a wonderful look at the
underwater world.
Its spectacular
scenarios include a freshwater stream, the Atlantic and Indian
Oceans, mangrove swamps, a rock pool, tropical freshwater and
much more besides.
The Atlantic Ocean
display is one of the Aquarium's largest and its windows are
displayed on two different floors allowing visitors the best
views of this cold dark world. You can see the fish of the Atlantic
including dogfish, bass, conger eels and turbot. You can also
see the Aquarium's divers feeding the fish each day.

Children will love
the Ray Pool, modelled on the underside of Brighton Pier. Here
they can stroke friendly rays. The Rockpool is another wonderful
exhibit for children where they can interact with species like
crabs and anemones found in the rocky pools around Britain's
coast.
Get in
FREE to the London Aquarium
plus over 60 other top London attractions and get free public
transport with your London
Pass.
An altogether more
exotic experience can be found in other displays. For example,
in the Mangroves, you can see archerfish spitting jets of water
at flies, or maybe even visitors! Children will also love to
see the piranha fish, famous for their ferocity, being fed in
the Tropical Freshwater section.
The London Aquarium
is definitely on the 'must see' list of places to visit in the
capital, especially if you have children.
