London in a Lunchtime
by Ann Hall and
Lucho Payne
How
many people who live in London never find time to go to the
capital's famous attractions? I expect many of us would have
to admit to missing at least some of them. This new guide book,
published by How
To Books, is designed to help you find the time and gives
you basic information on them.
London in a Lunchtime, subtitled
'...or whenever you've an hour to spare', has information on 50
different places of interest. Although they include some of the
city's most famous landmarks like the London Eye and Westminster
Abbey, less famous and obvious places are included too. Did you
know that there is a museum devoted to tea and coffee? It is called
the Bramah Tea and Coffee Museum and is located in Southwark Street,
London SE1, more details can be found in the book.
Amongst the other
more unusual places suggested in this book are The Clink Prison
Exhibition, Dr Johnson's House, the OXO Tower and the Sherlock
Holmes Museum.

As well as including
a wide range of places to visit, the authors give tips for your
visits. Many of these would be useful even if you have all day
to spare for sightseeing.
Although the book
is principally aimed at people working in London, visitors to
the capital would find it helpful too. The sheer breadth of
places of interest included, the easy to use format and succinct
information make it a worthwhile addition to anybody's range
of London guide books.
